ESGI (European Study Group with Industry) is Europe's leading workshop bringing together academic mathematicians and industrial companies.
These week-long workshops have been held annually since 1968 and were previously known as the Oxford Study Groups with Industry, where they attracted leading mathematicians to work on industrial problems.
Description of the Mathematical Problems at ESGI'71 can be found here.
These problems were in areas like heat and mass transfer, fluid flow, granular materials, electromagnetic fields, financial mathematics and option trading and other processes amenable to modelling using continuum mechanics. But nowadays there are no limitations on the types of mathematics which can be used in these workshops.
ESGI71 takes place at the Faculty of
of Engineering of University of Southern Denmark on 17 - 21 August 2009. For more information, please use the links at the bottom of this page.
