76th EUROPEAN STUDY GROUP
with INDUSTRY
ESGI (European Study Group with Industry) is Europe's leading workshop bringing together academic mathematicians and industrial companies. These week-long workshops have been held annually since 1968 and were previously known as the Oxford Study Groups with Industry, where they attracted leading mathematicians to work on industrial problems.

Important dates
- Deadline for submission of a problem is 1 July 2010 and the fee is DKK 25000.
- Deadline for registration for academics and students is 31 July
2010 and there is no fee. The regigistration is done by sending an
email to Kari Haugland <k.haugland (a) mat.dtu.dk>

- In connection with the study group a Ph.D. course Modern
Methods in Industrial Mathematics is organised by the
DCAMM
International Graduate Research School. This 5 ECTS course include
participation in the study group, but starts four days before with
lectures and course work.

The Monday and Friday morning problem presentation, and other plenum sessions, will be in
building 306, auditorium 38, at the DTU campus.
The group work is in rooms 96,97,98,99, also in building 306.

Problem areas studied have included heat and mass transfer, fluid flow,
financial derivative pricing and processes, granular materials, electric fields,
geometry, operational analysis, but there are in principle no
limitations in the types of mathematics brought to bear in these workshops.
Among the Danish companies who have participated in previous Study
Groups are LEGO, Novo Nordisk, Danfoss, Grundfos, DSB, DONG, Danske Bank, and many others.
